Elevator pitch
One sentence
NoiseMoon is a free, on-device noise generator with a moon character, built by one solo developer.
One paragraph
NoiseMoon is a free noise generator that runs entirely on your device. The audio is procedurally synthesised in your browser — never repeats, never streams, works offline. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. The site features Mira, a hand-drawn moon character with eleven facial expressions that react to what you're listening to. NoiseMoon is one solo developer's project, made with the help of Claude Code; it's not a venture-backed app and has no investors. The marketing position: a quiet alternative to Spotify and YouTube white-noise content, where audio quality, privacy, and craft all matter.
Three paragraphs
The product. NoiseMoon is a free noise generator at noisemoon.com (also installable as a PWA on iOS and Android). It generates white, pink, and brown noise plus twelve themed soundscapes (Spaceship, Cabin, Cathedral, Velvet, etc.). The audio is procedurally synthesised in real time on your device — no streaming, no recorded loops. The site can listen to your room for ten seconds via the microphone (audio analysed locally and discarded immediately) and tune the noise to mask whatever's loudest in your environment.
The differentiation. Most "noise" content online is short audio loops on Spotify or YouTube, monetised by ads or subscriptions. A spectral analysis of 19 popular YouTube "white noise" videos showed they averaged a slope of −9.46 dB/oct, where pure white is 0 dB/oct — closer to brown than white, often looped, sometimes mono delivered as fake stereo. NoiseMoon's procedural generation has no loop, mathematically pure spectrum, and full stereo independence. The site uses no cookies and no analytics besides one anonymous Plausible page view per visit.
The story. Built by Chase, a solo entrepreneur. NoiseMoon is one of several solo projects he runs. He's not a trained software engineer; the project is built with the help of Claude Code. There are no investors, no ad budget, no growth team. The character (Mira, the moon) was hand-drawn with eleven facial expressions that react to what's playing.

What we'd love coverage on
- The data story: we measured 19 YouTube white-noise videos and found most aren't actually white
- The procedural-vs-loop distinction: why it matters for sleep, focus, tinnitus
- Solo-founder craft: building a polished web product as a non-engineer using Claude Code
- Privacy-first audio: how the on-device architecture makes the privacy story structural rather than promised
- The Mira character: a cute, gender-neutral moon mascot in a category dominated by faceless content farms
